The channel is owned and presented by Joseph Linaschke, who formerly worked in Apple’s Aperture team, is now a Lumix Luminary (in other words, a Panasonic ambassador), and creates some of the most helpful and well-presented educational photography content around. As well as having many hundreds of excellent videos focused on Panasonic gear, he also focuses on Atomos and Blackmagic kit, so you can see why he’s a great fit with our work here at Vlog Tech! You can find a summary of Joseph’s work at PhotoJoseph.com, his channel over on YouTube, and his presence on Instagram.
The reason I mention Jospeh today is that he’s just published a video that describes the newly-released ProRes RAW support for the Panasonic S1H Atomos Ninja V. In the packed 15-minute tutorial, Joseph runs through the new functionality, including how to download the required elements, how to record ProRes RAW on the S1H, how to import the raw footage into Final Cut Pro, and then how to work with it in both HDR and SDR scenarios:
It really is an excellent introduction to using ProRes RAW on the S1H, but is also helpful when using this setup on any other camera too – the tips on editing and grading footage in FCPX are relevant whatever your Atomos Ninja V setup.
So go watch the video, and consider subscribing to the PhotoJoseph channel. You won’t regret it!
