Doing livestream in COVID and want multitrack recording? This is the device.

Yes, it is expensive. But, this unit is a versatile video switcher, a livestream encoder, and an ISO multitrack video recorder. It has multi view, record to SSD, and works just like its bigger brethren in the BMG Atem lineup. Same switcher software. Only drawbacks are that it is HDMI only and for those of us with older Atem Television Studio gear, it won’t do 720p. But, I can still highly recommend the ATEM Mini lineup, including this top of the line unit.

Buy this equipment last, was unnecessary for me

I made the mistake of buying this as one of the first pieces of equipment to make videos. Before I even had a camera, microphones, or set up a recording space. This device is probably best when you have all the equipment and studio set up first. Even then, I would only use this to help someone else film. That way someone can switch the inputs while the other is on camera and not distracted from speaking to the camera. The hdmi ports are very touchy, so you don’t want to move this device around. I got it set up, tried to move it, and all the inputs started glitching. It needs a dedicated spot with proper airflow because it gets really hot. The 1 usb c port and 1 hdmi out are the most disappointing features of the Atem Pro ISO. The extreme has 2 of each and not having them is a huge headache because it means needing more equipment like a pass-through hdmi monitor and atem streaming bridge. So you would just end up spending the same amount as an atem extreme anyway.I ended up returning it because I want to record higher quality than 1080p, which is the max the Atem Pro ISO can capture. I will just record onto the memory card of a 4k camera or get a capture card.

    Bang for Your Buck

Only thing to dislike is that you cannot use the atem software while simultaneously sending live video to OBS. It will glitch like crazy.Other than that this atem is amazing. Well built
